Rescript Ex Audientia SS.MIUnofficial English Translation
Accepting the request presented on 26 January 2013 by His Excellency the Dean of the Roman Rota, Msgr. Pio Vito Pinto, the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI, in the Audience granted to the undersigned Cardinal Secretary of State on 11 February 2013, has approved the following special faculties, to be valid for a period of three years:
I. The Rotal sentences which declare the nullity of marriage are executive without the need for a second conforming sentence.
II. It is not possible to propose a recourse before the Roman Rota for a New Proposition of a Cause after one of the parties has contracted a new canonical marriage.
III. There is no appeal against Rotal decisions in the matter of nullity of sentences or of decrees.
IV. The Dean of the Roman Rota has the power to dispense, for a grave cause, from the Rotal Norms in a procedural matter.
V. The Rotal Advocates are to be warned about the serious obligation to deal with solicitude the progress of causes entrusted to them, whether for pay or ex officio, such that a process before the Roman Rota not exceed in length a year and a half.
