DECREE

Whereas in March 1987 it was announced in the Newsletter of the Canon Law Society of Great Britain and Ireland (no. 69 p. 27) that the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland had decreed that laws emanating from the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland are to be published in the Bulletin of the Communications Commission of the Conference and that they will begin to oblige one month from the date of the issue in which they are published;

Whereas the Bulletin of the Communications Commission of the Conference is no longer published regularly, if at all;

Whereas increasingly, a normal means of communicating information is through the World Wide Web,

The Bishops’ Conference of Scotland decrees that with effect from 25th January 2012, Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul, laws of the Conference are to be published in the dedicated section on the website of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, www.bcos.org.uk, and that they will begin to oblige one month after the date on which they are thus published.

Anything to the contrary not withstanding.

Given at Edinburgh on the 16th January 2012

Signed

+Keith Patrick Cardinal O’Brien

Metropolitan Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh

President of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland
